- Nov 1 - Tabaracci pulled a groin muscle in the third period of his shutout with Calgary and is out for at least a week.

- September 16 - New mask info!! - In the words of my "source" - "Couldn't see the very top but along the front above the cage is the Capitol dome done in what looks like a glitter white. On the sides are the head of a bald eagle facing out with mouth

- Sept 14 - Early reports of training camp say Tabaracci is playing well, though there's room for improvement. As expected, Caps playoff goalie Olaf Kolzig is stealing the show - goaltending wise.
- Aug - Rick Tabaracci was traded back to the Washington Capitals for future considerations (or as some see it - Phil Housley, who was picked up on waivers earlier in the month). He will serve as back-up to longtime buddy Olaf Kolzig.

- Jan 9 - Tabaracci was named Molson Cup Star of December, and again donated his $1000 prize to the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation. Congrats Tabby! Keep it up!
- Jan 5 - Tabaracci was named Official Spokesperson for the Alberta Children's Hospital, located in Calgary, Alberta. Thanks to the ACH, and good choice, Tabby!

- Tyler Moss, also known as "Peat" and "The Kid" is unbeaten in his first three NHL games (2-0-1). With back to back games this weekend, we may see a reappearence from Tabaracci...stay tuned.
- A shake up in Flames goaltending! Tyler Moss has been called up from the minors, and Dwayne Roloson has been sent down!
- Tabby's kind gesture towards a young fan put him on the front page of the Calgary Sun. Please read Fans need hockey heroes.
- Look for Tabby to be starting the Home Opener on Oct 1, vs the Detriot Red Wings!!
- Despite suffering a slight groin pull during the exhibition season, Tabby finished off the pre-season with a great win vs the Oilers, getting first star in the process! (Not to mention a 10-minute misconduct in the last second ;-)
- Calgary has traded Trevor Kidd (along with Gary Roberts) to the Carolina Hurricanes, making Rick Tabaracci and Dwayne Roloson the goaltending duo for the Flames, and Tabby the number one goalie! Congrats Tabby! Read the Sun story here, and the Herald column here.
- Tabby was nominated the NHLPA's Player of the Day on June 27, 1997! Read all about it!
- In the 96-97 season the Flames started an educational incentive program with the Calgary Herald. Rick Tabaracci was involved with the "Reading... Give it a Shot!" aspect. Check out the Puck and Paper page promoting this program! (Great work guys!)
